Christian Oberli received the B.S. degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC) in 1994 and graduated with highest honors in 1996 with a degree in Electrical Engineering and an M.S. degree in automatic control applied to biomedical engineering. In late 1997 he was appointed junior faculty member of the Department of Electrical Engineering at PUC, and in 1998 he was awarded the Fulbright Fellowship for pursuing graduate studies in the U.S. He is also recepient of the MIDEPLAN Fellowship from the Chilean government. Between 1999 and 2004 Dr. Oberli was a PhD student at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), where he conducted research in the field of broadband wireless communications. Dr. Oberli returned to the faculty of his Department at PUC in early 2005, where he currently holds an appointment of associate professor and conducts research and education in wireless communications.
